| A native of Lafayette, Indiana, and graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, I've been painting and illustrating for over 26 years. Eschewing the narrow and fixed label of illustrator or painter, I see myself as an image maker, creating illustrations, plein air oil landscapes, digitally-colored woodcuts, and spontaneous "source" paintings in tempera. | CREATIVITY COACHING My interest in creativity coaching grew out of my exposure to and interest in the writings of Dr. Eric Maisel, the founder of creativity coaching. Impressed by the positive changes I experience through my own self-coaching, I became interested in helping other realize the same. I've since worked with individual artists, given presentations, and taught classes in creativity. In April of 2008, after completing a two year course of study and coaching, I became a certified coach by the Creativity Coaches Association. ILLUSTRATION Illustration work has included editorial, advertising, institutional, book, web, and packaging assignments. Editorial work has appeared in US News & World Report, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Architectural Digest, Der Speigel, Sports Illustrated, The Los Angeles Times, and Barrons. Advertising clients include American Express, GTE, Dupont, Citibank, NorthBanc, and Bank of America. Book illustrations have appeared in the publications of Simon Schuster, Harcourt Brace, Harvard Common Press, Northwestern University Press, The National Geographic Society, and the University of North Carolina Press. I've been a long-time member of the Graphic Artists Guild, the Society of Illustrators, and the Illustrators Partnership of America PAINTING Primarily an oil landscape painter, my work has been featured in over 13 one-man shows and has been exhibited in numerous group shows. I'm currently represented by The Harrison Gallery. (www.theharrisongallery.com) |
